The International System of Units (Système International d'Unités) is the most widely used measurement system in the world.

The 7 Base Units

  • Meter (m) for length
  • Kilogram (kg) for mass
  • Second (s) for time
  • Ampere (A) for electric current
  • Kelvin (K) for temperature
  • Candela (cd) for luminous intensity
  • Mole (mol) for amount of substance

All other units (like Joule or Watt) are derived from these seven base units.
